We are based in the Pyrenees and have helped the Freedom Trail, or Chemin de la Liberté, be a reality for over 600 escapees since 2014.
We love to explore historical journeys in the mountains, following in the footsteps of those who needed to escape across borders to freedom. We like to get to know local people affected by these missions and look indepth at the history, the equipment used and specific escape lines and routes used.
Many things which happened then are also relevant to countries, regions and societies today around the world.
In addition to history climbing iconic peaks or on expedition has always been a passion and way of life for many of our team and we would love you to share this with us and join in 2026 or 2027.
We have departures starting in France and crossing to Spain or Andorra following known and published WW2 escape lines. We love to bring history to life! Follow in the trail of pioneers from the past including celebrated SOE agents and "passeurs". Relive their adventures and see how they survived! Delve into local communities, their culture and traditions. Share your journey with likeminded people, embracing nature and history along the way. We also offer bespoke family requests, discovering where journeys started and finished and likely paths taken and conducting research. Further afield we take ono other escape journey's and have trips planned for peaks such as Kilimanjaro and more remote bucket list locations in 2026.
Research
Contact us to try any route for 3 days, cross a border, stay in a wild camp or find a hidden treasure or solve a WW2 clue. We have many videos of stories where relatives have traced or have asked us to trace where their relatives who were involved in WW2 escaped including aviators, a French passeur, members of the SOE, fleeing Jewish people and others.
