We offer two itineries – the first suitable for families exploring close to escape cols and enjoying the snow but emmersing in history and culture including 1 night in a mountain refuge with restaurant.
The second is a MUCH tougher trip that crosses from France to Andorra on a documented WW2 escape route on the Chemin del La Liberté. This is a serious undertaking and not for the faint hearted. You will be expected to be an expedition team player and able to cope with adversity. Temperatures can be -13 degrees at night in the Cabane. The rest of the accommodation is hotels.
See escape cols used in WW2 and experience a blend of Catalan, Andorran and French influences. Starting in France we make our way to Andorra which has a fascinating history and played a pivotal role as a neutral state in WW2. This is the route tried by Reganis This is a tough trek where there will be one or 2 nights spent in a refuge winter room with temperatures can dop as low as -13 degrees. Not for the faint hearted. We also offer this as a family trip where we visit key points on the trail and experience shorter days walking.
