World War II witnessed many daring escapes through treacherous mountain routes that served as passages for fleeing refugees, resistance fighters, and soldiers. These paths provided a glimmer of hope amidst the misery of war and as such survive in our culture as symbols of resilience and humanity, which we experience in our trips. Earlier in history we also follow the Cathars and other actions in WW1.

We explore other countries we have either lived in for a while and experienced changes, worked there or are strongly associted with in an expedition sense.
