About the Lemosho route

The Lemosho, approaches from the west and ascends through arid lowlands before a heading up onto the Shira Plateau moorlands. We set off through jungle terrain where you will have the chance to see colobus and blue monkeys. Higher up you’ll see Giant Groundsels, unique to Kilimanjaro which appear intriguingly.

From Shira plateau, we pass the great lava tower and the following day climb the beautiful Barranco Wall. The next evening is summit bid under moonlight and feel the relief of reaching Stella point and seeing incredible glaciers in the summit cone. You’ll get good time at the top to reflect on your achievement passing through 5 climatic zones before descending through lush tropical rainforests.

We experience magical landscapes and powerful sunsets, the surreal ever-changing landscape and rousing dancing and singing keeps spirits high en route.
